How to Structure Clients in Breeze RMM: Organizations, Sites and Device Groups
Watch Breeze RMM structure a client with two locations: the Organizations board and its setup chips, a second site added to the record, a workstation moved to it with Change Site, a dynamic device group built from one hostname rule, and the device list filtered by site and group and saved as a view. Everything later (policies, maintenance windows, alert routing, reports) lands on the right machines because of this.

What's in the demo
- Organizations: the client list, with chips for what each one still needs (No site, No devices enrolled, No policy assigned), search, and Work in this org
- Sites on the organization record: Add site "Main Office", America/Chicago, address; the record lists both sites
- Change Site on a device: the dialog spells out what follows the site (configuration policies, maintenance windows, alert routing, reports) and that Breeze never moves a device back on its own
- Device Groups: a dynamic group "Warehouse PCs" from one rule (Hostname contains VEGA-WH), the live match preview, 10 devices
- The device list: Add filter Site, then Device Group, then Save view
Questions this video answers
- What is the difference between a site and a device group in Breeze RMM?
- A site is a place (a building or office) with its own time zone and address, so maintenance windows run in local time and policies can be assigned per site. A device group is a logical set of machines, static or dynamic, that policies, scripts and software deployments can target wherever those machines sit.
- How do I add a second site to a client?
- Open the organization's record and the Sites tab, then Add site. Only the name is required; set the time zone, and fill in the address and a contact later.
- How do I move a device to another site?
- On the device, More actions, Change Site, pick the new site and Move device. One device at a time; the site's policies, maintenance windows, alert routing and reports then apply to it.
- Do dynamic groups update themselves?
- Yes. A dynamic group has rules (for example Hostname contains WH); a device that matches joins automatically, including devices enrolled later.
- Can I save a filtered device list?
- Yes. Build the filters (site, group, status, custom fields and more), then Saved views, Save current view, and give it a name.
A note on the demo: all clients, sites and devices are fictional lab data.
