v0.96.0 stable major release

Release v0.96.0

Jul 16, 2026

Order hardware through PAX8 and TD SYNNEX without billing surprises, trust your backups to actually restore, and send more polished quotes — plus the groundwork for deeper Microsoft 365 management. A standard upgrade with no breaking changes.

Distribution & Purchasing

  • Order through PAX8 without billing surprises. Place distributor orders from Breeze and keep what you bill reconciled against what was actually ordered, with quantity snapshots that hold your billing to the truth.
  • Real-time TD SYNNEX product lookup. Check current distributor pricing and availability on demand — including straight from the AI assistant — instead of waiting on the nightly price file.

Backup & Recovery

  • Backups you can trust to restore. Integrity checks and test-restores now genuinely detect a corrupted backup instead of only confirming a file exists, and restores put files back with their original permissions and timestamps.
  • Windows system-image backups work end to end. Full system-state (bare-metal) backups on Windows now complete and restore correctly.
  • Backup, verify, and restore run reliably on your agents. Each job now executes on the device, records its result, and surfaces failures in the console instead of failing quietly.
  • Run a backup on demand. Kick off a backup for a single device right from its Backup tab, with an accurate next-run time shown in your own timezone.

Quotes & Billing

  • Clone a quote in one step. Duplicate an existing quote — optionally choosing the target company and contact — so recurring proposals don't start from scratch.
  • A more polished quote experience. A cleaner editor, better-looking PDFs and emails, a dedicated customer bill-to, and per-section subtotals.

Microsoft 365

  • Groundwork for deeper Microsoft 365 management. A new control-plane foundation and an optional, read-only customer consent flow lay the tracks for richer M365 features. Both are off by default and roll out gradually — your existing Microsoft 365 connections are unaffected.

Platform & Extensions

  • A versioned runtime contract for extensions, making it safer to build and ship add-ons on Breeze.
  • Pick the site when creating an enrollment key, so new devices land in the right place automatically.

Version 0.96.0 brings your purchasing into Breeze and makes your backups something you can actually rely on.

On the distribution side, you can now order through PAX8 directly from Breeze — with quantity snapshots and a billing-truth workflow that keep what you invoice reconciled against what was really ordered — and look up live TD SYNNEX pricing and availability on demand, right down to asking the AI assistant. On the backup side, this release closes the gap between “the backup ran” and “the backup will restore”: integrity checks and test-restores now genuinely detect a corrupted backup instead of just confirming a file is present, restores preserve original permissions and timestamps, Windows system-image backups work end to end, and you can trigger a backup for a single device on demand.

Quotes get a polish pass too — one-click cloning, a cleaner editor, better PDFs and emails, a dedicated customer bill-to, and per-section subtotals. Under the hood, this release also lays the Microsoft 365 control-plane foundation and an optional, read-only customer consent flow; both are off by default and roll out gradually, so your existing Microsoft 365 connections keep working exactly as before.

Self-hosting note: this is a standard upgrade — six idempotent database migrations that apply automatically, no large data rewrites, and no new required settings unless you opt into the new Microsoft 365 customer consent rollout. There are no breaking changes. As always, review the notes on the GitHub release before updating.
