v0.14.4 hotfix
Release v0.14.4
Mar 25, 2026
macOS agent auto-restart fix and faster remote desktop connection on Intel systems.
Improved
- Existing macOS installs with the old restart configuration are automatically detected and self-healed on the next agent startup — no manual intervention needed.
Fixed
- Fixed macOS agent and helper not restarting after clean exits (e.g., after an agent update) — both services now always restart automatically.
- Fixed remote desktop showing a black screen for ~11 seconds on Intel systems — a 3-second startup deadline now triggers automatic fallback to the software encoder if the hardware encoder doesn't respond.
- Reduced encoder stall recovery time from ~11 seconds to ~4.5 seconds across all platforms.
macOS agents that were installed before this version had a service configuration that prevented automatic restarts after clean exits. This meant the helper wouldn’t come back up after an agent update. The agent now detects and fixes this outdated configuration automatically on startup.
Intel systems also get much faster remote desktop connections — instead of staring at a black screen for 11 seconds while the encoder recovers, Breeze now switches to the software encoder within 3 seconds.
